graber's Issues

DXF File segmented

Hi,
I have trouble importing/using the DXF files. All the curved features i.e. holes, arcs are segmented into little lines and not represented by an arc feature or "true" circle.

Any chance of uploading an DXF version that does support those features?

I checked it against other builds and they come in fine. The original prusa DXF has the same problem so I think that might be the scource of the problems.

How do your files "print" on a laser cnc, can I just handle them to a company to cut?

Converting to metric fastenings

Hi there,

I'm looking to build your version of the prusa I3. I looked at your files and it seems that you use imperial mesures. Do you know any fork of your version that uses metric mesures ? If not, can you advise me on how to change your files easily ? I plan to use Illustrator but it's gonna be a lot of work. If you have a better idea I'm all for it !

Thanks,
Jonathan

dxf dimensions

Can anybody confirm to me the dimensions used int the dxf files? From the author's location I would guess it's imperial / inches but then all the notes speak of millimetres, so I wonder. For the moment I have set my Autodesk design review software to treat the dimensions as inches and convert them into mm - just want to make sure I am doing the right thing before I send these to the cutter's along with a couple of hundred $$$ :)

Extruder

Hello,

first of all, thank you for your good idea about the laser cuttable parts.

I have one question, what is the best extruder for Graber i3?

I would like to use this one - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:296750 , but which prefer you and why?

Thanks for reply

Platform Change

I wish a change of the Platform for the Heatbed.
When i use Springs on the Corners, the Platform grinds on the front to the Case.
On the side with the 2 LM8UU it works perfect. On the side with one LM8UU it is like a "rocker".

So i wishe 2 holders for LM8UU on the other side...

Unable to open files

I'm probably doing something wrong, but I cannot open the dxf files on either a mac or PC. I've never used github before, is there something special I need to do in order to download the files correctly? I've installed the client and synced the directory.

Additional CAD Avaialable

Hello:

Do you have any other CAD available, other than flat dxf/dwgs? I'm interested in 3D models. I'm going to mock this up to ensure my designs are compatible with yours!

Thanks!

Basic Questions

(I no longer have any questions)

Parts

Tell me, what is the length of smooth shafts, what is the thread pitch on the screw?

X Motor and Idler

I have laser cut acrylic as per graber-atx.dxf . However, after assembly, there is no space for mounting of lead screw nut and threaded rod in x motor and x idler. Anybody has solution for it?

Thank you

Colored DXF

Please can you release a colored DXF like the one for the other frame in order to distinguish the cuts from the incisions (such as letters and numbers)? Thanks!
