It looks like we have both been messing with this codebase, and both stopped about 2 years ago.
I picked it back up about a month ago and have been working on the networking portion of it. Tonight I just implemented a fully working master server setup.
Some of the things I have completed on this codebase:

• SDL2 port (I see you did this as well)
• Strict compiler settings
• CMake port (I see you did this as well)
• Major refactor of code
• Added Nuklear GUI and replaced menus and HUDs
• Modernized much of the older C++ code, removed things such as auto_ptr
• List goes on...
  I was looking at your work on this codebase and was wondering if you were willing to collaborate with me to get online play? I have a master server implemented at http://blackshades-redemption-master-server.bkeys.org and you can see my repo at https://code.bkeys.org/bkeys/black-shades-redemption
  I am using Valve's GameNetworkingSockets to implement the UDP part of the game, I have the skeleton of a server communicating with a master server working, once I have the GUI implemented and connection done through master server information instead of hard coded values I plan on moving forward getting online play implemented.
  Regardless if you wish to collaborate or not, it is exciting to see someone else mess with this old game.
