file Pointers misbehaving using XCode's Compiler on Mac-OS

in FS101.
undefined behavior when compiling using XCode compiler on a Mac machine.
File pointer at deviceDelete(); and deviceUpdate(); seeks to the end of the file when overwriting record's availList flag. Things get interesting when calling tellg();/tellp(); before and after the writing operation for debugging, when I print tellg/tellp for debugging the pointer behave as expected with no bugging. However when I remove those debugging print functions the bugs or(undefined behavior) is back again.

This doesn't happen on windows using minGW compiler.
