Validate the simulation

Validate the simulation against real-world data to ensure that it accurately reflects the real-world conditions in the Gulf of Guinea.

Gather Data

Identify and obtain the necessary data for the simulation.

An ideal data would contain

• Latitude and longitude of the initial release location of the litter (for example, 5°N and 3°W)
• Date and time of the release
• Initial velocity and direction of the litter (for example, 1 m/s in a northwesterly direction)
• Water temperature and salinity at the release location
• Current speed and direction data at various locations in the Gulf of Guinea
• Wind speed and direction data at various locations in the Gulf of Guinea
• Sea surface height data at various locations in the Gulf of Guinea
• Bathymetry data for the Gulf of Guinea
• Data on any other environmental variables that might affect the movement of the litter (for example, waves, tides, etc.)

Test the simulation

Test the simulation to ensure that it accurately reflects the movement of marine litter in the Gulf of Guinea and that the results match the expectations.

Create a user interface

Develop a user interface that will allow users to interact with the simulation and control various parameters such as the start and end dates, the frequency of data updates, and the size and type of marine litter being tracked.
