pialarm's Issues

Further clarification on wiring

Currently I have a Pi4 w/ FTDI cable connected to the Elite 64-W's COM port. With this I'm able to connect to Wintex (PlayOnLinux) in PC-Com mode. I'd really like to use pialarm with my Elite 64.

However I'm really confused with the wiring diagram page. The Pi4 is powered with a USBC cable, so only worried with wiring for communication. I'm not very familar with the usual notation when it comes to raspberry pis etc, so would appreciate any handholding. Photos would really help.

Any progress?

Hi,

I'm also working on decoding the Wintex protocol for my Texecom Premier 832, and was wondering if you ever made more progress on this? My repo is at https://github.com/RoganDawes/WintexProtocol, written in Java.

My eventual goal is to integrate the panel with Home Assistant, having made a Python library and documented the relevant memory addresses. Interestingly, the memory addresses appear to vary per panel (not entirely surprising, given the scale from 16 to 640 zones). My zone status bytes are at 0xdb7, for example, and Wintex reads 16 bytes (for 16 zones).

udl_server not starting?

I've moved from my Linux laptop to a Mac, and now I find that udl_server is not starting. The console runs, but no listening port is opened, and no output from the udl_server routine appears.

Seems like the problem is the "*" for addresses to bind to, it seems to take a long time to return in asyncio.start_server. (I actually never waited long enough). It works fine with "localhost".
