This is Visual Studio Code extension for formatting ruby files based on rufo gem.

Keybindings

  • Windows/Linux: Ctrl + Shift + I
  • Mac: Cmd + Shift + I

Requirements

It required rufo gem to be installed and availble in path.

gem install rufo

Gotchas

  • It supports only the whole file formatting. Formatting a selected block of code is not supported yet.

  • As the modification of file happens outside the editer using the gem, cannot use undo operation. This is a known issue with vs code and hopefully gets fixed soon.

How can I help?

Hey! I am very interested in this extension, but I installed it and even though i have rufo installed globally and for the project I'm testing with, the extension doesn't seem to think its in my path. I also don't see a way to run the formatter on save.

Is there anything I can do to help make these things possible?
