Utility aplication for browsing, searching and extracting Trainz Assets from CDP files.

Getting Started

You can download a free copy of the code and build it yourself or download the latest Windows binary from the Releases tab.

Installation

There is no installation necessary. The application is ready to run. You can associate the CDP files with this application by choosing "Open With..." in the Windows Explorer context menu and choosing this application as default.

Building

This project was built with Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 and .NET Framework 4.8.

File Format Specifications

The Chump (CDP) File Format Specification was determined by reverse-engineering and is described here: Chump File Format Specification

The binary KUID format was determined by reverse-engineering and is described here: KUID Format Specification

How do I export the files in CDP explorer?

I am trying to get models from trainz, and using cdp explorer all I see is a list of files and not anything useful. How do I export these?

I know I do not seem native to this language here, my native language is English. But the "help" link told me to go here and it seems to be related to the cdp explorer.

Unhandled exeption during open cdp

I try Version 3.6 as exe-Format.
This comes with different cdp-Files.
Please take a look at this or give me a hint what i can do.

Unable to read beyond the end of the stream error

When opening some CDP files the following error is encountered:
"Unable to read beyond the end of the stream."

Opening some CDP files give "overflow of an arithmetic operation" error

Hi: I'm having issues as well. I have 2 cdp files at 2 gigs size each, and 1 cdp file at 3 gigs size. All 3 files throw the "overflow of an arithmetic operation" error when opening from the file menu, and only open showing a very small portion of the total archive. I can extract what I see in the window, w/o problems.

Non-negative number required error when opening some CDP files

When opening some CDP files, the following message pops:

Auto-rename files if the destination file already exists

When exporting individual CDPs, the only options are to either Skip or Overwrite the destination file if it already exists. A new option to automatically rename the destination file if it already exists might be useful.

GridView does not allow resizing

The GridView does not allow resizing of its columns.
Although the columns are being resized automcatially, there are some cases in which they do not.
