mdev without xf86-input-keyboard and xf86-input-mouse on gentoo

Since those two drivers were removed from upstream and from the gentoo repos, what is the recommendation for getting input working now if any?

PARTUUID and PARTLABEL support

Wouldn't supporting these, which would clear a TODO item, only require adding 2 matching lines after

		[ "${UUID}" ] && create_uuid_label_symlink 'uuid' "${UUID}"
		[ "${LABEL}" ] && create_uuid_label_symlink 'label' "${LABEL}"

That are identical except for adding PART/part in front of the relevant places?

kvm group

upon startup, there is complaint about unknown group kvm. There is no kvm group by default in Gentoo.
kvm root:kvm 660 line in mdev.conf should be changed.

unknown user/group

OS: KISS Linux
Error message: mdev: unknown user/group 'root:uucp' on line 43
Notes: ttyS[0-9] devices are usually owned by root:dialout on udev.
