hyperion's Issues

Improvement: Air vent difficult to print beautifully

The air vent with the shape of IIII is hard to print on most FDM machines because the frequent retraction and low volume&movement extrusion increases the chance of clogging.

A way to make better air vents is to design them as wavy lines (small triangles) in and out of the case wall, from the top side it would look like

<
 >
<
 >

So holes are open on Z instead of X/Y, making these lines printable as continuous lines

Duplicate filename inside repository

Inside STL Files there are two files called AUX_Housing_25mm_strap.stl
One has an uppercase S on the word Strap. This is fine for *nix systems where the OS supports case sensitive paths, but this will not work on Windows systems.
The uppercase file seems to be newer ( Jan5 '22 vs Jun 16 '22), and has an additional notch for the lid not present in the older version.

I would recommend either removing or renaming the older file.

Thanks for all the work on the project! Got mine printing in resin now to see if resin prints are resilient enough.

Support for BNI160?

Hey there,

Love the design of this case, it's the one I'd like to go with if I can have Thingiverse print it for me lol

Just wanted to know if the sizings would be compatible with a BNI160? That's the accelerometer I've got on order :)

Thanks!

BMI160 with SS12D00G3 and 503759

So I see on the official Doc that BMI160 is the current go-to IMU for DIY Slime So I wonder is there a tray for this setup rn? I see the one for 503759 with SS22F32 but not SS12D00G3.

No AUX case for BNO085 (SlimeVR) chips

The AUX case is too small for the BNO085 (SlimeVR) chips. Any chance someone has this file? I can try to edit the existing design myself but I dont have any relevant experience for the job (new to 3d printing in general).

903052 Case - Battery Slot Expansion

I just got some of the Amazon 903052s linked from the SlimeVR Components Guide and most of them are measuring about 58-59mm long. Expanding the battery compartment to 60 mm gave them a good fit. I didn't file a PR since I'm not sure if you wanted these loose or friction tight. At 60mm..half fall out when turned upside down and the others come out with the slightest tap.

After Expanding the slot by 5mm to reach 60mm total:

Tray_503759_BNO08x.stl

MPU-9250 is a hair too tall to fit the 503759_BNO08x tray. The hole needs to be around 0.5mm taller.

Small geometry issue with Case_804040_SS22F32.stl

There is a small issue with the model and I could confirm in github stl viewer too

image

you added a rectangle for the smaller battery but between that square and the wall, there is a hidden geometry with two holes that confuse a bit cura

Thanks,
Tim

503759_ss22f32 lids

None of the lid files will open in Cura, it says they are corrupted or don't contain models. All other files in the directory work normally.
