Hi,

I have tried to run the Apama EPL Apps testframework using Python 3.9 and got an error while executing the sample test 'TestInEPLApps'. See attached log for more information, but it seems like the method isAlive for the Thread class has been removed in Python 3.9.

It looks like it is very common, that test devices are not properly cleaned up on shutdown especially if the test does not terminate properly. In my case, I have 1500 test devices after a couple of days of test development. It would be good if the test framework deleted all PYSYS devices on startup.

Related to here #5, the Pysys testing now supports the usage of environment variables. Two issues:

• the need to configure environment variables is only documented in the reference (https://open-source.softwareag.com/apama-eplapps-tools/autodocgen/apamax.eplapplications.basetest.html) but not in the documentation when creating ones own test case.
• the framework is not using the same variables that go-c8y-cli is using making it difficult to use it session management functionality. Namely go-c8y-cli is not providing CUMULOCITY_SERVER_URL

It would be good if the tools supported the standard environment variables to provide username, password, and tenant. This would help keep the commands short, would not compromise credentials in screensharing and would enable the usage of the session management feature of the c8ycli command line tool (https://goc8ycli.netlify.app/docs/gettingstarted/)

The application used for testing is shown in the app switcher. This is not necessary. It could either be created as a microservice application or with noAppSwitcher set to true to avoid this.
