yourfriendlydns's Issues

The name is really bad

This is the cleanest, best looking client I've tested so far, decent mix of capability too - but the name. It's just.. the worst. Leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Change it. Please! I can't make panties drop if I use something with "friendly" in the name. It's gotta be MEAN! And.. exotic, yes... Look, I'll work on it and get back to you.

Create a release with an installer for Windows (and other platforms)

Greetings! I've used Simple DNSCrypt for a long time, but because of its issues I managed to find this program and it looks great. Really looking forward to testing it out when I get home from uni.

Anyway, I wish you could release a version with a newbie friendly installer. It would help attract new users.

Has the project gone stale?

I'm just curious as there's been no commit since (almost) more than three years as of today, has it gone stale alternatively abandoned? I hope not as this looks like a interesting and frankly good, easy alternative to some other applications -- which can be deployed quickly and without any hassle, really.

So, anyway. I hope this will continue to be developed upon.

Best wishes,
-k0nsl

Releases

Might I suggest you use the Github release system instead of hosting the archives inside the repo? Easy to do, short instructions can be found in the Github help: Creating Releases. If apart from tagging you also attach the files there, that makes them easier to find.

As for the Android .apk files: I'm a bit irritated that v2.0.7 should be the very first version (especially with a v1.1.5 lying next to it):

package: name='org.qtproject.example.YourFriendlyDNS' versionCode='1' versionName='1.0' platformBuildVersionName='8.1.0'

Could you please take care to increase versionCode with each new release, and have versionName reflect the real one? Otherwise this causes trouble/confusion on the users' end.

Thanks in advance!
