Could you provide details as to why this will not work with testrpc? I'm having trouble using a private chain (truffle doesn't want to deploy to it) so if I know the issues with testrpc I might be able to find some way to work around them. Thanks!

I noticed this note here

Note that if you are using ecrecover, v will be either "00" or "01". As a result, in order to use this value, you will have to parse it to an integer and then add 27. This will result in either a 27 or a 28.

But I noticed that you are just converting v to decimal in index.js. Hence asking, does the code works or it has to be modified to add 27 to it as mentioned in the docs?

The tests in this repository are for METACOIN still. I wanted to test ecrecover locally but ran into the following error

If you could update the code with working tests, that would be a big help for me to figure out what is going on with my local testing with web3j.
