accessibility.cloud is an initiative by SOZIALHELDEN e.V., a non-profit organization based in Germany. The organization runs Wheelmap.org – world's largest open online map for wheelchair accessible places.

We believe in an inclusive world and want to make it easy to find accessibility information—wherever people need it. That’s why we want to encourage everybody to share this kind of data with each other.

As a tool, we suggest accessibility.cloud to share data in a standardized, future-proof, easy-to-use way.

Strange behavior with API Calls from app and Postman

Hello AC Team,

I have a problem with simple API calls. The following behavior shows:

Make a call from my app and get the response below, obviously not what i wanted.

Now comes the funny part: when I first make a call with Postman and then I make the exact same call from the App it works!

I really don't know what I am doing wrong and any help would be greatly appreciated!

Logo as SVG

We are in the process of adding accessibility.cloud to http://opensourcediversity.org :)

I could only find the logo as PNG at:

(The second one is used on the main page and has some small path/display errors.)

It would be great to have the source SVG so others can use the logo to link to the project in high resolutions or when zoomed. It can also be safely used on the homepage as SVG works in all browsers (except IE8 if you support that, but there can be a fallback for that): https://caniuse.com/#search=svg

API and docs mismatch

https://github.com/sozialhelden/accessibility-cloud/blob/main/app/docs/json-api.md#pagination says that you can request 1000 results at a time, but the API allows limit parameters upto 150000(i.e., returns a sensible error message if the limit is more than 150000). However, if the number of records to be returned are over 1000 and the limit is set to anything over 1000, the server returns a 502 error. This should be changed to return a more descriptive error, perhaps by lowering the 150000 limit to 1000?

Requested geolocation not contained in JSON result set

Hi,

I have added an accessibility info about FH Technikum Wien some months ago.

When I use the accessibility cloud API to fetch the data about it using longitude and latitude and an accuracy of 1000, it is not contained in the result set:
e.g.: https://accessibility-cloud-v2.freetls.fastly.net/place-infos.json?appToken='mytoken'&latitude=48.2435&longitude=16.3974&accuracy=1000

When I reduce the accuracy to 10 it gets even worse. Then I only get a few JSON properties and not the full result.

Could you confirm this please?

Wheelmap/OSM source : retrieve data for all kind of disabilities

Hi AC team,

We're working at I Wheel Share on integrating movie theaters in our chatbot. We have recently added some data into OSM regarding theaters having equipment for blind people. But for now, Wheelmap source only retrieve data regarding wheelchair accessibility. Is there any way that Wheelmap source (or another one in AC) offers accessibility data from OSM for all kind of disabilities ?

Can't use Wheelchair api

Hello everyone!

My name is Katherine Muñoz, I'm from Chile and I'm currently studying programming in Laboratoria.

Laboratoria it's a bootcamp for women who want to improve their futures in the tech area. During this period, we are faced with new challenges focusing on solving necessities of different users by implementing new technologies.

In this regard, we are currently working on a project based on using maps from Here to solve problematics of people with reduced mobility, including people in wheelchairs, motor disturbances, physical injuries, elders and pregnant women. For this, our intention is to combine data from your cloud with Here maps, and then, present the best routes according to the users needs. At the same time, we will allow users to comment or post any information they find relevant for other users (for example, if the restaurant they want to go has no access to wheelchairs, they will post a comment about it so other users will know behore hand).

I signed in in your platform accessibility.cloud, but it said that I needed to be approved first, so I wanted to contact you to let you know about this project and see if this can speed things up.

Is there any way to use the data from wheelchair map without waiting for verification?

How can I find out, if there has provide sign-language or subtitles in different languages too? Maybe somehow to put this in the category 'media' or 'communication'. So the Deaf would know, there is exactly communication accessibility.

Maybe for hard-of-hearing there is option with 'induction loop'.

Proxy Error

Hi AC team,

We're working at I Wheel Share on integrating accessibility data in our chatbot. We have recently noticed a proxy error (below) when we query the data. We think that when we query latitude like 48.868615, it might be too long.
