It was giving me that error at first but now it's not even loading channels list.

The hard coded values for quality in SceneChannel.js needs to be updated. High, medium and low is no longer used by Twitch, they use: 720p, 720p60 etc.

Atm the select start quality in code is high but since it does not exist auto will be used. I think auto should be the one to start with.

Option to choose start quality should be added to config.js

Hello,
i am able tot push this release to my UE46ES7000 tv but after opening te app no channels will load.

After load i get the error "no stream data loaded" when i do a refresh i the error "unable to access token".

Do i have to create in this release my own API key? I did not see anythink about this in the readme so i am wondering why its not working.

Hey folks, i have found another repo that retrieve list of url quality for a stream, and is facing same problem us on smartTV.
some guy make a pull request fixing this problem => https://github.com/acerbisgianluca/node-twitch-get-stream/blob/hotfix/twitch-auth-endpoint/index.js
maybe we can use this to get the app work again.
The question is how we can use this, can the app make this request ou we will need some server running ?

it would be nice if the app showed a recommendation channel, like on the web, when the user is logged on the first page, the twitch shows some stream you would like.
I don't know if the twitch API provides any endpoints to obtain this based on the user's nickname.

Nothing is loaded on opening the app. Do I have to use my own API key to fix this?

i trying to implement new features but i cant make develop environment work, how do you guys use to implement and test on physical tv ?
by now i just copy source code into usb drive and plug on tv to see if my code work, is to hard and slow.

I used your fork as https://github.com/nikitakatchik/smarttv-twitch doesn't work anymore. Your fork works again, I can browse games and see channel thumbnails but as soon as I want to start watching a channel by pressing OK on my remote, it says "Unable to retrieve access token".

Any idea on how I can fix this? Thanks in advance.

1- Open the app/script/config.js
2. Replace the current numbers with your own user
2.1 - I used the following chrome app: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/twitch-username-and-user/laonpoebfalkjijglbjbnkfndibbcoon, otherwise I would have to do a request by hand with a valid client id.
(then install as you would normally do)

The following steps is just how I installed, maybe it is different for your TV.

3. Create a zip file from the files directly, you can't have a single folder inside.
4. Download SammyWidgets and place it inside the widgets folder.
5. Open SammyWidgets and select Twitch
6. Go to your TV and at the menu, login with the user: "develop" (no password needed)
7. In the apps list, hold the center/enter button in one of the apps, a menu will appear (like the right click ones)
8. Select to configure the IP address
9. Place your computer IP address, must be in the same network I guess.
10. Go to Sync apps or something

Done :)
Your favorites will appear in the APP from now on.

• To the future we could just add some kind of localStorage to save the user's ID and have a new screen that asks for the user name?

If someone knows how to test it in the computer, I can try to do something, otherwise ti would be a pain to install the app every new test :/

Games and Streams are working as it should, the Channels front page and Followed Channels are not loading.

Some of the TVs support 1080p (I know high def right ;)) but the all of the resolutions used in the app is for 720p.

Investigate if there is any quality difference if player etc is set to 1080p. If yes an option in settings is required.

As the title says, it would be easier to move the apikey to the config file so we could change only in one place (And in the future, maybe type it when open the app somehow and store it on localStorage, can be done with #3 )

The original creator tried to add chat years ago via iframe but said it lagged a lot because of flash. It might work much better now.

I think the fork for Tizien have chat so we can look and see if we can adapt it for this version.

Todo:

• Add flyout to the left for chat.
• Resize video when chat is visible
• Test embed chat via iframe.

Hi guys,

I recently installed this app on my UNF6400 Samsung TV. I installed and replaced the username as mentioned on the readme, the app installs and opens fines. However, when I click on a streamer to watch it shows a 5sec "Commercial Break in progress" video from Twitch and then the stream doesnt start and the screen stays black.

I have also tried changing the clientId, the issue persists. Any ideas?

Tried latest release with username and empty user id and it's not working. With both filled it's all good.

It would be a big improvement to be able to enter your username from the app one time and for it to fetch the Id and store that for future use.

I know it can be done just need to look up how to store it.
