Video Translation Project란?

외국어 영상을 시청할 때 한글 자막이 있으면 좋겠지만 없는 경우 이를 해결하기 위한 프로젝트입니다. 광학 문자 인식(Optical Character Recognition)을 사용하여 영상 내의 문자와 문자의 위치값을 받아 온 후 번역을 하고 해당 위치에 번역된 내용을 다시 올려주는 프로젝트로 예상하고 있습니다.

다음과 같은 과정을 통해 제작하고자 합니다.

1. OCR을 통한 문자 내용, 위치 파악
2. 내용을 translator api를 사용하여 번역
3. 파악한 위치에 번역한 내용을 표시

What is Video Translation Project?

This project is to solve the problem watching foregin videos without korean subtitle. Using Optical Character Recognition, program collects the data of character and location of character in video, translate, and relocate translated contents at correct position. This project intends to translate Video in certain langauge into other language.

We try to achieve the goal with following procedure

1. Get contents and location via OCR
2. Translating contents using translator api
3. relocate translated contents to the correct position in video
