monero-core's Issues

Pre-empt hashrate drop and network freezes due to fork

Right after the anti-ASIC fork, Monero suffered significant network degradation since its true nethash was roughly 15% of the difficulty, and miners were effectively losing money by hashing on a relatively unprofitable chain until the difficulty could adjust back down.

Aeon, being a much smaller coin but also having a longer difficulty adjustment time than Monero's (720 blocks, ~2 days at normal speed) will be much harder hit by an anti-ASIC fork. Again, since this is a smaller coin, it is harder to rely on altruistic miners to restore the nethash post-fork.

I recommend either temporarily reducing the difficulty adjustment time post-fork, or by fixing the difficulty immediately post-fork like was done by Sumokoin sumoprojects/sumokoin@613ed5b

"MONERO" label displayed in medium resize state

I finally got around to installing the new Aeon beta GUI and noticed a little UI bug. When re-sizing the window, the "MONERO" name appears while the size is between "small" and "large", we'll call this size, "medium". Aeon shows correctly in other views.
