Is there way to use react 18 version for this component template? our project base is using react 18+. So how can we use this library to support on our project. Thx
Hello,
First thank you for this amazing project 👍 !
I tried to create a custom component with the ability to add children to the component (text, map, bar_chart...), similar to what can be done using st.columns
What I would like to do for example with this component, is something like:
el1, el2 = my_component(2)
el1.write("this is in element 1")
el2.bar_chart(hist_values)
component-template
? Or should it be done in some way with streamlit's DeltaGenerator
class or something similar ?I am quite new to streamlit, so I don't really know where to start and if it is even possible.
Thanks!
Hi, when trying to apply the Prepare your Component step of Publish to PyPi, I get the following error:
$ npm run export
npm ERR! Missing script: "export"
But if I do npm run build
, I get the frontend/build/
folder properly created, and then when setting _RELEASE = True
I can then use the component without starting the Webpack dev server, as expected.
Is my npm install too old (9.5.1, but note that Development Environment Setup does not specify a minimum version)? Or is the documentation to be updated?
Regards,
Olivier.
Hi.
The component template does not include tests. Please add one to verify that running tests works (it doesn't).
Running tests I get errors here:
node_modules/streamlit-component-lib/dist/index.js:17
export { StreamlitComponentBase, withStreamlitConnection } from "./StreamlitReact";

SyntaxError: Unexpected token 'export'
Using ts-node
.
I got this error after running "npm install"
`npm WARN deprecated [email protected]: fsevents 1 will break on node v14+ and could be using insecure binaries. Upgrade to fsevents 2.

I looked online and couldn't find much information regarding this error. Does anybody know why?
Prettier is missing as a dev dependency.
It doesn't seem to be required in all cases so it would be good to remove it.

I'm getting this error when running the frontend of the react template (i.e. npm install
and npm run start
, as described in README). Manually setting the typescript version in package.json to 3.8.0 (as suggested in the other issue) fixes this for me.
I’m attempting and failing to get the instructions to create create a bi-directional component available here to work using React on Windows.
My setup is as follows:
Steps I’ve taken:
template/my_component/frontend
, run npm install
I get the following error:

I’ve posted the log contents here.
Is there a step missing from the instructions? Or have I done something wrong?
Currently we have the ugly yellow card with text but I'm really enjoying Streamlit's latest transparent loading for its native widgets. Would love for this to be the case also for custom components.
Hey guys followed the quick start guide step by step.
In one terminal I did npm i
& npm run start
In another I created virtual env, activated it, and then ran streamlit using streamlit run my_component/example.py
I am getting the following error when after going to localhost:8501
File "C:\Users\...\code\test-st-template\my_component\example.py", line 2,
in <module>
from my_component import my_component
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'my_component'
Am I doing something wrong or is it out of date?
Hello, I'm trying to follow steps to create my own component, but I handle with this issue when I did npm run start.

I have to change the template typescript version to 3.8.0, because I was getting error on npm install.
Regarding this issue, it would be great if this template has the functionality to give a component an optional tooltip just like other Streamlit components with help=
.
I am encountering an issue when trying to run my Streamlit app and streamlit components. The error message displayed is "ERROR in ./node_modules/streamlit-component-lib/dist/ArrowTable.js".
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the streamlit-component-lib package, but the error persists. I have also tried clearing my npm cache and running the app in different environments, but the issue still persists. I have also checked the version of apache-arrow, and it is up to date.
I am not sure what is causing this error and I would appreciate any help in resolving it.

How should I write the docker file when using streamlit, which runs a custom component in a docker container?
I created a docker file based on node.js and python, but it doesn't work.
Please help me if you can, please.
Hi. You are currently using React Scripts 4.x.x. This is an old version.
When I update it to 5.x.x I get compile/type errors for Apache Arrow.
Please update react-scripts
to 5.0.0
.
We have published the component on July 07, 2023. Still now not reflected on Streamlit component library.
Name of the component: EJ2-Streamlit-Grid
Github URL: https://github.com/SyncfusionExamples/Getting-started-with-Syncfusion-Grid-component-in-Streamlit-app
PyPI package: https://pypi.org/project/ej2-streamlit-grids/

st.write(df.iloc[selected_points[0]['pointIndex']].astype(str))
st.write("Total points:", df.shape[0])

Thank you for great feature. It is help me a lots but I want to change the display name of click button . Do you know how to change it .
Thank you.
