I'm going to leave this issue open, because I would like to replace Mu in the future, but for now I think the unescaped expressions has been handled in #8

I know that you mentioned Handlebars in the other thread. IMHO, it's probably overkill for the requirements here. It weighs in at a hefty 1.6MB on disk (with a few dependencies).

Take a closer look at dot -- it's small and light and I think it's just fine for the few simple templates that you have.
