This project is a buildroot asset wrapper. The intention is to checkout a buildroot tree submodule and build the assets, copy them out of the build tree, clean up and the build tree and then prepare them to be published as build assets via github actions. The asset should contain the images as well as enough metadata (.config and HEAD reference) for a user to rebuild by hand if they want.
Ensure you have the necessary Buildroot dependencies installed on your host system.
To build the default configuration (vkmark-arm64.config):
./scripts/build.shTo build a specific configuration from the configs/ directory:
./scripts/build.sh my-custom-config.configIf you need to resume a build (for example, after a failure or manual changes in output/.config), use the --continue-build flag:
./scripts/build.sh --continue-buildThis will skip overwriting the configuration and jump straight to the build and artifact collection steps.
The build uses an out-of-tree directory (output/) to keep the buildroot submodule clean. Final images and metadata are collected in the artifacts/ directory.
GitHub Actions is configured to automatically build and publish assets on tag pushes (e.g., v1.0.0).
Assets are published as GitHub Releases. You can download the latest built images from:
https://github.com/<owner>/<repo>/releases/latest/download/buildroot-assets-vkmark-arm64.tar.gz
This fixed URL makes it easy for external systems like QEMU's CI to always retrieve the most recent artifacts.
