[Review and suggestions] Excellent software but the interface should be redesigned to be less annoying

Hello everyone,
I have installed XDM on my Kubuntu 19.04 and Chrome browser and it is the best download manager ever, however its interface needs to be redesigned to be less annoying. So here are the pros and cons I found.

Pros.
1- Browser integration detect download links and videos perfectly.
2- The ability to shut down and run a program after download is finished is very handy.

Cons.
1- The floating "Download video" option that pops inside the page is very annoying and hides page contents behind it. It is better if that option is removed and only the icon on the toolbar of the browser is used.
2- The user needs to select show progress option to show some essential information about the download, like speed and estimated time. I believe this information needs to be added as columns next to each download and the separate progress dialog should be removed.
3- The user has to go to the advanced option to make the computer shutdown after download complete and the option will remain unless removed in the next time. It is better if the options for download completion are added a drop-down menu in the main toolbar.
4- There should be an option to disable the categories in the main UI, that will save space and make the UI simpler.
5- The options sidebar is a little bit annoying, maybe redesigning it as a separate dialog is more familiar.

In general the interface needs to be simpler and more intuitive.

Best regards.

  2. Right-click and select download all links with XDM

Expected behavior

XDM not opening on Linux Mint!

Describe the bug
The XDM is not opening on my Linux Mint. Upon clicking, it prompts "An older version of XDM is already running". After that it just closes. The browser plugin is however able to parse videos and also can download them. The issue seems to be with opening only.

Cannot install xdm on raspbian

I'm trying to install xdm on Raspberry Pi 3 model B with a latest rsapbian system (Version: September 2019).
I know that rspbian is a 32-bit debian base system (Kernel version: 4.19), so I downloaded 32-bit linux version of xdm and executed it with the command:
sudo ./install.sh

But it just come back with this error:
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo ./install.sh

I'm just a freshman to linux, hope I can get any help.
Thank you.

Merge .ts files

Right now merging .ts files fails
So, from shell i open the state.txt file in text editor and formats the output like

state.txt

file '377dbae8-fbd1-4de7-98f8-7b0a9f3e2ff4'
file '59a30f2e-4278-40d0-baf6-ef39cc444c61'
...

And merge using ffmpeg
ffmpeg -f concat -safe 0 -i state.txt -c copy output.mp4

But i don't know how to integrate this in the xdman source

Enhancement: Download files with session supported

Describe the bug
In some cases, some websites requires authentication to download files and unfortunately, XDM doesn't this. Which this annoys a lot, since i have to turn off Browser monitoring and download the files with Google Chrome default downloader 🤦‍♂ . Please consider fixing this, thanks so muchhh.

By the way, session support is covered in many download managers nowadays.

Refresh download link issues in version 7.2.10

I was trying to refresh the download link because the download session is expired,
in the 7.2.8 everything works fine,
I still can refresh it and the pop up that identified the new download link is appear.
but in the newest version which is 7.2.10 the pop up won't appear,
I waited but it still wont appear so i decided to resume my download but still i can't continue because the download session is expired, not like in the 7.2.8 where the xdm just continue the download,

please look into it
thanks

Methods i have tried:

  1. Restart browser
  2. rm xdman folder in /opt and sudo ./install.sh again
  3. Reinstall XDM extension

OS: Ubuntu 19.10
Firefox: 74.0

FYI, the extension is working fine in Google Chrome but not Firefox.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Windows 10.0.18363
  • Browser: Chrome (but any that access the store, since it doesn't come up on search either)
  • Version: 80.0.3987.132 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional context
It seems as though Google/Chrome has purged the page from the store (automatically or otherwise).

Accessibility: The interface is too small

Screenshot (373)

The resolution is 2560x1080. Aspect ratio: 21:9 (or 64:27)
My blind eyes can hardly read what's written there, even with my glasses.
My screen is not big as it looks in the screenshot.

This wasn't a problem in the previous version.
I kindly request a scaling option for the application.

Awesome software by the way. If you ever need a graphic designer, feel free to message.

Additional context

XMD will not download anything

I just attempted to download the newest Manjarowise and XDM errored out on me. I
then attempted to download the Manjaro 19.0.2 ISO and XDM would not download it
nor even give me an error. I then closed the browser and had to force close XDM. I
then relaunched the browser and attempted to download the latest Ubuntu to see if
by chance it was just a fluke and it would not download either. I exited the browser
again, forced XDM to close, restarted my system, and then proceeded to try the
Ubuntu download again in Vivaldi-Stable and Vivaldi-Snapshot and in both XDM
Still would not download the ISO. Since this is happening in both browsers I have to
assume the issue is with the XMD desktop companion. I'm using the latest versions
of both Vivaldi browsers on Manjaro KDE 19.0.2 Testing Build. Any help with this
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
