Yes. It should be noted however that this is a "textbook question," and normally this wouldn't be a right forum to ask such questions. The reason I answer is because class naming in bindings other than Rust and Go is work in progress, and there should be a more intuitive interface with classes with explicit references to 'signature' and 'public key'.

The reason signature and public key vary between P1 and P2 is due to the BLS specification defining two variants. The run.me is meant solely as an example if one wanted to use blst in python today. As Andy mentioned, a more intuitive interface for python is in the works so stay tuned.
