Key strings like ".key" or "-key" are not replaced correctly. The output is 
something like "-
whyisthereaminus" or ".byedot".

What steps will reproduce the problem?
0. enter a short keyword in KISSphrase, and your long passphrase (which has no 
spaces in it, btw).
1. start firefox (I'm using 3.6.6)
2. go to a place where you have to enter your passphrase
3. enter your keyword, which you expect to be replaced by your actual passphrase

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I would expect the keyword to be replaced.  Instead, I still see the same 
******* in the password field, thus showing that my actual (much longer) 
passphrase has not been substituted in.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.5 on 10.5.8 on Mac Book Pro

Please provide any additional information below.
I tested my installation by typing my keyword in other apps (TextEdit, 
Aquamacs, the Search projects box on this page) and the keyword is replaced by 
the passphrase each time.  So, KISSphrase does work on my machine in some 
circumstances.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open System Preferences, go to KissPhrase
2. Open a text editor
3. type a keyword followed by tab: it works
4. close the system preferences
5. type the same keyword in the text editor, followed by tab: it doesn't
work anymore, there is only the keyword followed by tab in the text editor.

Force Quit the KissPhrase Process in the activity monitor solve the problem
temporarily.

I use Kissphrase 0.5 on OS X 10.5.5, on an Intel Mac.

I will try to find out if something bring KissPhrase in this faulty state,
but until now I couldn't find it out.

Just upgraded to OS 10.9 and Kissphrase doesn't work anymore :( Looved this 
app!!!

The problem seems to be with enabling assistive devices. That system setting 
has changed in OS 10.9 and now has to be done via
Security&Privacy -> Privacy -> Accessibility
But Kissphrase doesn't show up there, so can't be enabled.
