Speed

The current speed of drawing the dirty tiles is too slow, I've found. It
almost becomes unplayable around 50 dirty tiles, which is about 25 monsters
or a small FoV.

The number of cell (DOM) accesses determines this. I got about the same
speed redrawing the entire table with a single DOM access as I am getting
with the current implementation (with 50 dirty tiles).

There are several ways to reduce DOM access, which kaw and I discussed briefly:

*Row by Row*: You could update the entire row a dirty tile is in, this
reduces the number DOM accesses to a maximum of the table height.

*Tables of Tables*: You could have a 10x5 table each with a 2x2 cell (could
be any numbers, really), all you do is update the table a dirt cell is in,
this reduces the number of DOM accesses to as many small tables, in the
case above, 50. This method might be better with a FoV as only a few tables
will update where the FoV is, Row by Row will update every row the FoV hits.
