Null geometries in 'parcels' table

I noticed the 'parcels' table in the PostGIS db contains several NULL geometries.

The strange data can be found with this query:

SELECT * FROM parcels WHERE ST_GeometryType(geom) IS NULL;

I have not yet checked if they also exist in the original shapefile. There may have been some problem importing the Shapefiles into PostGIS?

The table indicates that the geometries have length and area, so records probably contained geometry at some point? I can also check the 'assessments' table to find out what kind of properties these may have been?
