examplerepository's Issues

Create python example

Since CS 373 is done in Python, I'd like to create a Python example as well.

What's needed

  • run.py Just a few very basic functions like plus and minus
  • test.py A python test program using unittest.
  • A script or make target to run test.py
  • Modify the .travis.yml to test both the C++ and Python programs

Trello

Integrate this repo and issues with Trello.
Using Trello and Pivotal Tracker may be a bit ridiculous, but I'd like to show what both of them look like without creating a whole new repo.

Google Test Section

Add a section to the readme for setting up Google Test quickly on the lab machines.
Add a link to the gTestExample repo.

Project Management Section

The readme needs a section about project management.
In particular, it needs to cover the tools Trello and Pivotal Tracker.

Additional Reading Section

Just add some links to blogs/books/etc. that have something to do with using Github or any of the tools used in this repository.

Pivotal Tracker

Integrate this repo with Pivotal Tracker.
Yes, I am aware that there's no practical reason to use two both Pivotal Tracker and Trello, but I'd like to show them both off with this one repo.

Github Flow and Git commands

Need a section right after the intro to help describe the steps involved with using the Github workflow.
Include the commands used on the command line and the page interactions involved on Github.

Documentation in the Wiki

I'd like to have the documentation be in the Github wiki.
In fact, I'd like to implement it as a submodule, as suggested in this paper.
I'm not super sure what exactly a submodule is or does, so I'll have to learn more about it.

Split readme into link

The Readme is getting to be a bit much.
I'd like to break it into separate markdown files and have the main readme just link to them.

Hubot Section

Add a section to the readme explaining how to set up Hubot and hook it to this repo.

Intro

Write a little introduction to this repo at the beginning of the readme

Refactor pow

Prove Travis CI's usefulness by refactoring the pow function and using Travis CI to prove it passes all tests before merging the change back into master.
