Specifically:

is a recommended thing to do in Drupal when checking render arrays, but render and trim aren't functions that we've attached to our Twig.

Ideally: have our Twig pass anything it doesn't understand through unfiltered so that we don't have to shim a whole bunch of functions that don't do anything

Although: If that's not possible, make a better way to define shimmed functions and define render and trim
