Local Development

To setup this project locally for development purposes please follow the following steps:

1. Ensure you Node.js installed. See

2. Clone this repo by running the command-

$ git clone https://github.com/techmannih/chatApp-backend.git

3. Navigate to the directory where the repo is cloned to.

$ cd chatApp-backend

4. Run to install all the dependencies.

$ npm install

5. Start the application locally by running.

$ npm start

readme.md file

make a readme file containing all API endpoints

no function to generate username

there is no way to generate username and is getting username from front which is not a good way.

API endpoint for getting a chat isn't available

• 'chats/get/:id'
• this can be an endpoint

image upload using third-party service

there is no way to upload and update image in db.
[ ] we can use cloudinary services to do so.
[ ] update api for image uploading

env file not found

there should be an env example file that can help in setting required env variables

cors isn't available

cors implementation isn't done yet in 'server.js'
