Wondering if its possible to have an image be zoomed and cropped on load?

Use case would be that jQcrop crops an image and this information is saved in the database, along with the original image, and then when user wants to re-crop, it displays the original image with current crop information so the user can update.

Hi, let me explain what Im going for, I have a slider of images, these images slide when I hover over their thumbnail, what I want to do, is have a method grab this image, crop it at top left, store it in a variable, and then load it as its thumbnail, so I dont have to add 2 images. I have this image set as background-image not as a regular html , which should not be a problem because we can get it through the .css jquery method, but Im not even sure if it is possible to implement through Data URI images, I feel a bit noobish because Im not sure if at load browser converts images to data uri either way, are there any examples of the jqcrop plugin or tutorial on how to use it?

I tried this on my tablet, and the widget doesn't seem to work.

Are there plans to make pan/zoom work with touch controls? (i.e. pinch-zoom instead of scroll, and touchmove instead of dragging).
