awesome-ue4's Issues

Consider paid products for inclusion

There are various paid products for UE4 that are worth considering acquiring a license for. One example of such is Coherent GT, an HTML5-driven UI framework.

The spirit of this awesome list is to maintain a list of free and well-maintained resources, which is why paid assets were initially excluded. It's important to call attention to paid assets in order to create a more comprehensive list of resources. Paid teams do have the advantage of (hopefully) being able to create a better maintained product that is better supported via e-mail or forums or what-have-you.

Tasks

  • Gather paid products (in this issue tracker)
  • Integrate them into the awesome list
  • Clearly designate paid products as such

Which is the correct Awesome UE4 repo?

Hi, I found 3 repos all claiming to be the Awesome UE4 repo. They all contain slightly different content and none seem to be a direct extension or fork of the others.

It's not clear to me as a user which is the correct one to use or what the difference is between them. When I searched Google for Awesome UE4, the insthync one came up as the first result, but this one has more stars and seems older.

Part of the reason I am asking is that I am planning on creating a list of OSS/SSS UE4 games/projects and not sure if it's appropriate to host alongside Awesome UE4 or separately.

Evaluate Descendent Studios' OSS plugins for inclusion

@DescendentStudios, the makers of Descent: Underground, have open-sourced a number of smaller modules or utilities that were developed as a part of the development process for the aforementioned game. These works are scattered across multiple repositories associated with their GitHub entity.

Most of these projects seem to have only been last updated last year, 2016, and show no indication of being maintained on a regular basis in accordance with Unreal Engine's fairly frequent releases. However, that may only be because they merely require no work for use in the latest version of the engine.

Works for Review

  • PingPlugin
  • BlinkenPlugin
  • ExtraConfigPlugin
  • DSUtilityPlugin
  • CommandLineParametersPlugin
  • XMPPChatPlugin
  • UE4JoystickPlugin

The above works should be reviewed to see if they meet the guidelines and be considered for inclusion in the list. Some of them, at first glance, seem a little sparse on documentation, so they'll likely be excluded for that, but others do seem promising...

I'll probably look at including a few of these in my own projects and adding them to the list if they seem solid.
