findr's Introduction

FindR is web application that finds restaurants near you.

The backend for this project is built using Node.js Express.js and database used is MongoDB.

The front-end is built using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap.

Note: This is deployed on a free hosting service hence it takes 60-90 seconds to load for the first time. Subsequent pages will load instantly once you get the landing page. The number of restaurants is limited to 100 only due to free API limitations.

Click on the location, to get the name and address of the restaurant.

The project is deployed at https://findr-5qah.onrender.com

To built this project locally follow the steps mentioned below:

Install the latest version of node from: https://nodejs.org/en/download

Once you have node and npm installed in your system, run the following codes:

git clone https://github.com/thelonewolff/Findr

npm install

node index.js

The website will now be running at http://localhost:3000/
