Support for Multiple Repo Template

Hi,
We are keen on adopting this in one of our projects. Our cookiecutter templates are made of multiple child templates coming from different git repos. It is more of composite pattern with multiple subdirectories getting generated.
Wanted to know if the update works for those child repos as well? or do we need to introduce the json file in each repo(hence subfolder) ?
