We want to be able to have urls like:

/fr/actualites/ci-dans-les-medias
/fr/actualites/ci-dans-les-medias/mon-article-sur-le-lobbying

what has been tested as a a solution:

• create a parent News category ( FR: Actualités, EN: News)
• retrieve children categories and display only those on site

there have been some issues when testing where the single posts in EN would not be displayed either entering an infinite redirect loop or redirecting to the FR post

this seems to have been solved by

• updating WPML
• emptying its cache

this has to be tested again on Staging env

Important: when structure has been redefined > setup redirections

pages and posts that are not the Home Page have duplicate h1 tags

only one must exist for each page or post

this is due to the fact that there is a h1 in the header for the site's title and one for the page title

leave only the main page title as h1

a JS error is raised claiming the Rest client can not find the header used to discover the Rest API

Context

We use the recommended discovery method

https://developer.wordpress.org/rest-api/using-the-rest-api/discovery/#link-header

but the WP Super Cache mechanism to cache HTTP Headers does not seem to work as it should even with the appropriate settings turned on :

Some pages had been setup as noindex pages because their content was appearing on the home page and we wanted to avoid duplicate content penalties

after discussing the matter with seo expert it seems it is better to indicate a canonical url than excluding those pages from the index

the pages are :

• All root level section pages
• All Posts list pages

Using an url like: /fr/actualites-ci-lobbying/page/2/

a User should be taken to the correct posts list page within the News Section
