Feature Request: It would be great if LifeSaver saved all the data to my Google
account either in
GMail or using the Docs Upload API. This would let me have multiple backups
(with timestamps)
from multiple phones and would protect me from the inevitable moment when I
accidentally break
my new and my old phone.

I think a lot of phone without SDCARD can still write to a flash partition
which is mounted in SDCARD by default.
I prefer to have those informations backed up in my SDCARD rather than in the
cloud as I'm a little bit concerned with the fear that attacked you ^^'
Thanks anyway for this app since it really helped me a lot ;)

I'm using Cyanogenmod 7.2 (Android 2.3.7)
I've installed lifesaver2 from f-droid app
When I click on "Save your life" button, the following message appears:
Horrible error while engaged in life-saving: Saved life is unreadable.
What should I check?

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Backup old phone (G1)
2. Restore to new phone (Nexus One)
3. The new phone wasn't completely clean; it had some SMSes and calls already.
Not sure if that's a factor, but including for completeness anyway.
4. Open up the Messaging app on the Nexus One.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Call log and SMSes are imported fine. But SMSes are not sorted in date order
(call log is though). All of the imported content appears to have the current
datetime as the time of the latest message.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
LifeSaver 2 (0.9), from the Market, on a Nexus One running Froyo 2.2 (FRF91)
Please provide any additional information below.
Workaround: Open and closing each SMS thread seems to be sufficient to get the
phone to read the relevant part of the thread and sort them as expected. That
takes 5-10 minutes for the volume of content I have, but feels like something
the app should be able to do?
Otherwise, I'm a very happy user, thanks!

My cloud data backup has been up for at least a month now and hasn't been
deleted. The app says that it should be deleted every 2 hours. I would really
prefer that my data not be left in this database indefinitely.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Tap "Save your life."
2. Tap "OK" after save is complete.
3. Press back button.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected result is for the app to exit. Instead it goes back to the screen
displaying the completed "life saving".
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
LifeSaver2, Android 2.3.7 (also occurs on CyanogenMod 7.1)
Please provide any additional information below.
It may sometimes be useful to see again the results of the last save or
restore, but it is an inconsistent use of the back button. Pressing the back
button from the main activity at first start up results in returning to the
home screen.
It cause an input loop: save a life, tap ok, press back to exit (as it worked
when the app was first started), see the "life saved" screen again, tap ok
again to be sure nothing went wrong, press back to exit, see the "life saved"
screen again, repeat.
Possible solutions could be:
-Clear the activity stack when the main activity is loaded.
-Override the back button to always exit the app when pressed on the main
activity.

I'd like it lifesaver backed up my user dictionary as well. I hate having to

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Backup from an old phone to the cloud
2. Try to restore to a new phone running KitKat
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Call logs are restored OK, but SMS isn't, despite reporting that 'restored 1361
of 1361'
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Backing up on Nexus 1 running Android 2.3.6.
Restoring to a Nexus 5 running Android 4.4.
Please provide any additional information below.
This could be user error in terms of I'm not that familiar with the new UI and
the way Hangouts is the new SMS app in this version of Android, but I suspect
it might be related to the way only a single app can be registered to write to
the SMS database at a time [1], [2].

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Restore a LifeSaver backup on the stock HTC Tattoo Android 1.6 ROM
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expect it to restore the call log from the LifeSaver backup. It instead halts
with an error indicating that the permission READ_PHONE_STATE was not assigned.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Lifesaver 2 from Android Marketplace.
Please provide any additional information below.
The stock Lifesaver app works fine in third-party ROMs for the HTC Tattoo. It
just does not work on the stock ROM for me. My solution for this problem was to
add the permission READ_PHONE_STATE in the manifest.
