midistick_firmware's Introduction

MidiStick - The worlds most advanced midi interrupter

Its a USB stick sized MIDI over usb compatible interrupter for tesla coils. It generates the pulses that control the arcs.

This Repo contains the Firmware it uses, the PCB files are here

What are the features?

It is a four-voice polyphonic synthesizer that supports the VMS (Versatile Modulation System), which allows it to work pretty much like a normal synthesizer with a square wave output does. It supports free modulation of the key signal parameters on the fly (frequency and on time), ring modulation, fully range-mappable use of free midi CCs as parameters for the modulations and midi maps (allowing for different VMS sequences for every note). This is fully customizable with a graphical programming language and can be used to create sound effects like for example a drum kit.

Oh did I mention it can play SID files from a C64 for that extra retro cool sound? 😎 In combination with the config software you can use it as a fully compliant netSid device. That in combination with the HyperVoice phaser makes it even more unique πŸ˜ƒ

The hardware is usb stick sized (hence midiSTICK ;) ) and can be used with both HFBR and IF-E96E series transmitters.

midistick_firmware's Issues

Stuck on one note

I'm using V2.0 and it sometimes happens that no note turn-off command is sent, resulting in this note being constantly on. Further notes work as intended, but this one plays all the time. There is no time nor note dependency, it seems to be random. No matter whether it is VMPK or a midi file.

repo cleanup

damn there is so much mess in here that isn't even part of this project

Can not flash the Firmware

Hi, I build a Midi Interruptor V1.2 (acually I build two, because I thought I have a hardware issue).

But it seems I can not program it. What are the steps to program it? Do I need to flash the memory.hex or the firmware.hex first?
I'm always getting this error:

Failed to program device
Selected device and target: memory mismatch.
