We need a meta package pulling in all the kernel related packages:

• linux-image
• linux-headers
• linux-libc-dev

Plus it should replace itself for later versions

I know hosting isn't an easy thing with the traffic to be expected. Any solutions/ideas welcome.

Is that only Gentoo as recommended? or do you have .deb files for Debian? ^

Gameservers are sometimes really unkind. Example here: ARK Survival Evolved

My local setup includes

• stripped drivers except for VirtIO/KVM/Qemu
• set 'MQ Deadline' as the default IO Scheduler
• set default TCP congestion control to be Westwood+ for better networking over WAN/WLAN
• CONFIG_HZ set to 1000Hz for better responses
• Preemption Model set to Desktop for better respones
• Maximum number of CPUs set to 8

when I set up gentoo-vm-kernel on my KVM VM (debian 11) it doesn't want to boot anymore.

The vm-kernel works fine.

I tried to update the firmware but nothing worked.

Do you have an idea?

Gentoo Sources mock about needing glib 2.33 symbols.

New hardware support and stuff may come in handy. Worth taking a look

Kernel builds with the config I used produced a size of around 100 MB before. This time, it's inflated to 800 MB
