Laravel ReviewRateable

ReviewRateable system for laravel 5.*

Installation

First, pull in the package through Composer.

composer require trexology/reviewrateable

And then include the service provider within app/config/app.php. (Skip this step if you are on Laravel 5.5 or above)

'providers' => [
    Trexology\ReviewRateable\ReviewRateableServiceProvider::class
];

At last you need to publish and run the migration.

php artisan vendor:publish --provider="Trexology\ReviewRateable\ReviewRateableServiceProvider" && php artisan migrate

Setup a Model

<?php

namespace App;

use Trexology\ReviewRateable\Contracts\ReviewRateable;
use Trexology\ReviewRateable\Traits\ReviewRateable as ReviewRateableTrait;
use Illuminate\Database\Eloquent\Model;

class Post extends Model implements ReviewRateable
{
    use ReviewRateableTrait;
}

Create a rating

$user = User::first();
$post = Post::first();

$rating = $post->rating([
    'title' => 'Some title',
    'body' => 'Some body', //optional
    'anonymous' => 1, //optional
    'rating' => 5,
], $user);

dd($rating);

Update a rating

$rating = $post->updateRating(1, [
    'title' => 'new title',
    'body' => 'new body', //optional
    'anonymous' => 1, //optional
    'rating' => 3,
]);

Delete a rating:

$post->deleteRating(1);

Fetch the average rating:

$post->averageRating()

or

$post->averageRating(2) //round to 2 decimal place

Count total rating:

$post->countRating()

Count rating meta (Count and Avg):

$post->ratingMeta()

or

$post->ratingMeta(2) //round to 2 decimal place

Fetch the rating percentage.

This is also how you enforce a maximum rating value.

$post->ratingPercent()

$post->ratingPercent(10)); // Ten star rating system
// Note: The value passed in is treated as the maximum allowed value.
// This defaults to 5 so it can be called without passing a value as well.

laravel-reviewrateable's Issues

class not found in migration

[Symfony\Component\Debug\Exception\FatalErrorException]
Class 'CreateRatingsTable' not found;

I really wanted to use this package

Simple Published Moderation

Could you please add a status(string) column to the ratings table, we can fill it with pending, approved moderation

Open to alternative, would just like to filter out any spam or abuse before it gets published.

countRating is getting null value

``public function rateMechanic($id,Request $request){
$user = auth('api')->user();
$mechanic = User::find($id);

    $rating = $mechanic -> rating([
        // 'title' => 'Some title',
        // 'body' => 'Some body', //optional
        // 'anonymous' => 1, //optional
        'rating' => $request['rate'],
    ], $user);
    // $average = $mechanic->averageRating();
    $request->merge(['averageRating' => $mechanic->countRating()]);
    // $request->merge(['reviews' => $mechanic->countRating()]);
    $mechanic->update($request->all());

    dd($rating);
}``

When I call MODEL->ratings

I keep getting back random reviews, every time I refresh the view.
But if I 'return return $MODEL->ratings from the controller, it's always persistent.

Any ideas?

(nothing in the blade view is modifying the object in any way)

Posts table isn't included in migrations

I get this error:
"SQLSTATE[42S02]: Base table or view not found: 1146 Table 'database.posts' doesn't exist (SQL: select * from posts limit 1)"

And I looked in the migrations and there aren't any for the posts table.

"Call to a member function rating() on null"

I went through the installation instruction and I get this error:

"Call to a member function rating() on null"

When executing this code:

namespace App\Http\Controllers;

use Illuminate\Http\Request;
use AmazonProduct;
use DB;
use App\User as User;
use App\Post as Post;

class HomeController extends Controller
{
    public function index()
    {
		$user = User::first();
		$post = Post::first();

if(\Auth::check()){
		$rating = $post->rating([
  		  'title' => 'Some title',
   		  'body' => 'Some body',
 	      'rating' => 5,
		], $user);

		dd($rating);
}
    }
}
