Hi
I was following the preloader part of this tutorial, and like seemingly every pre-loader tutorial on the web, the example is actually v.difficult to transfer to the real world. For instance it would have been amazing if the load functions in this tutorial were linked to html elements or css classes. For instance, wouldn't it have been better instead of doing that whole piece with the
url and just done the load event on the .img-container class? Or created a div/wrapper around this img that would appear on load?
Nobody in the real world is going to set a loader on urls like that (unless they're a sadist), they'll just do it on the div / section / container etc the img, or say video is contained in.
Trying to transfer this tutorial to the real world is going to be a bit of head fry as it stands.
I really like the teaching style and explanation of the tutor, but it seems a bit of pointless tutorial?
Emily.
