base-digital-collections-template's Issues

review "blur" feature

  • practice of directly blurring thumbs and smalls files, rather than just in css
  • simplify implementation to allow easier updates
  • check in all visualizations

NW postcards manual migration

Northwest Historical Postcards Collection, https://www.lib.uidaho.edu/digital/postcards/
Requires some careful metadata and object work. Currently 532 images (postcards with just front) and 279 pdfs (postcards with front and back).

  • prep images from archive
  • change PDF items into "multiple" object type instead (i.e. two images not a pdf). this will involve creation of new rows with parentid. Each postcard will have a parent row with the full metadata, then two rows with the parentid which contain only the image links (front and back).

barstock "n.d." dates

@kxuidaho @aweymo-ui new items added to barstock contain "n.d." as a date value. The "date" field should only contain ISO dates, no other text (i.e. "n.d." = blank). Please clean up these dates! If necessary create an "archival_date" field to hold the information.

review Rights field and display

  • some rights seem to be trying to use Markdown formatting (e.g. spec email). avoid doing this for better interoperability of metadata.
  • ensure rights statements make sense across all collections
  • since search index ingests "rightsstatement" field in attempt to provide facet of rights (e.g. usecase: I want to search public domain images), ensure rightsstatement fields are correct, consistent, and mapped correct in config-search-index across collections
  • check specific collection issues (e.g. plcphotos)

collection citation
