This problem only appears when the path is enclosed between quotes and has a trailing backslash, such as:

--data="d:\Work\public\data\"

The cause of the problem is that \" (backslash followed by a quote) means the " is supposed to be part of the value. This causes the " - along with the rest of the arguments - to be consumed as part of the path. This is an actual feature and work around it one has to escape the \ as follows:

--data="d:\Work\public\data\\"

There is no need to end paths with a trailing backslash since throughout the program method Path.Combine() is used to concatenate paths.
