vaarn-tilesets's Issues

Tileset Issues In LDtk

Listed below are some current issues I've noticed with the tileset for LDtk.

  1. C shaped corridor. The lower route and upper route both have issues.
    image
  2. S shaped corridor. The lowest left corner has a straight red top rather than a corner red top.
    image
  3. Center pillar. The central pillar has no red top. Not sure if this is truly an error or not, it works the way it is.
    image
  4. Missing lower left corner. In the center empty space the lower left corner of the top right room is missing.
    image
  5. Bottom right corners don't have tendrils. The tendril like shading isn't being generated on bottom right corners.
    image
  6. Missing left wall on n shape. On this n shaped corridor the right route is missing a left wall.
    image
  7. U shape missing left red line. The left route on this u shape is missing a red top line on the right side.
    image
  8. More missing tendrils. A single floor tile shows missing tendrils on the top left, top right, and bottom right. These tendrils are also missing with other configurations like straight line corridors.

Most of these issues are occurring due to a lack of tiles specifically for thin corridors or thin open spaces.

Vaarn Color Palette

The main goal to creating these tiles is to have a tool set that creates a unified look for maps created by VoV referees and content creators. The question that needs to be answered is what kind of look are we going for? The current palette is based on rkbv-ii with a few extra monochrome colors added. While this palette is excellent, I found the lack of greens, yellows, purples, and browns to be limiting. Limits can be good, as it can push your creative boundaries. I do worry, though, that with a lack of colors it will limit the variety of tiles that can be created. My hope is that this repository will eventually include tiles for ruins, caves, vaults, and other interiors, hex overworld tiles as well, each with their own look and style.

This bug report is meant as a dialog, as there are not any actionable items yet, however the hex tiles and grid tiles are not currently unified, and need to be updated once progress to the color palette are finalized.

Add the source map for Vaarn regions hexmap

Hexkit doesn't handle tile reorganization well, so the original hex map I created for the Vaarn regions is currently borked. I need to fix the json by hand, or rebuild the map. I don't know which will be quicker.
