footnotes's Issues

Will this plugin get GraphQL support? [FR]

What are you trying to do?

We love all the functionality here, but we have a headless site where it'd be great to pass through the footnote links via GraphQL

What's your proposed solution?

Implement GraphQL support

Accessibility Recommendations

What are you trying to do?

Screenshot 2023-08-14 at 2 30 54 PM

When in use on a client website, accessibility audits are flagging the interactivity of the footnote elements.

What's your proposed solution?

The audit tool is requesting either using an alternative markup or making them more accessible to screen readers via a tabindex attribute. Is this possible to add?

html tags in footnotes

Hi Vierbeuter, Thanks for providing the plugin!

I have a question regarding the rendering of the footnotes. My client wants to have <a href="#">, <em> and <strong> in the notes. Is this possible somehow or maybe a planned feature? Thanks!

… and sorry for disturbing – solved by adding a raw filter {{ footnote | raw }}. All good 😄

Fix changelog for Craft Plugin Store

As of release 2.2.0 the changelog parser of the Craft Plugin Store can't read the plugin's changelog file. Some invalid formatting or such stuff is going on which I couldn't figure out up to now.

By the releases 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 I tried to fix that but unfortunately it didn't work. Now I am a bit stuck. … This one is freaking me out. 🙀

If anyone reading this right now knows what to do please feel invited to tell me. 😽

Support for CKEditor

What are you trying to do?

With P&T now focusing support on CKEditor rather than Redactor would it be possible to see this being compatible with this plugin as well?

What's your proposed solution?

Support Footnotes with the P&T CKEditor plugin https://plugins.craftcms.com/ckeditor?craft4

Links in footnote

Love this plugin. Very neat. Id like to include active href links in the sup foot note - but these are stripped out in the footnote loop
{% for number, footnote in footnotes() %}

Further suggestions

  1. Be nice if we could access the settings in the template to to detect if 'Enable anchor links" is switched on so an optional back button can be included.
  2. Although we can smooth scroll up ('back') be nice to have a class on the link created to target smooth scroll down to footnotes

Existing footnotes content displayed incorrectly after craft 2 to 3 migration.

After the migration to craft 3 i noticed that the output already existing footnotes are not displayed correctly. The anchor link are in the setting enabled.
The footnote content is not displayed and generated as anchor link (and numeration list at the end of the text), it is only within the sup-tag (without the anchor) in the text flow.

Matrix fields?

Is there a way to make this work when the footnote is added a Matrix field? I'm not sure what the syntax would be for the line that converts footnotes into numbers without repeating it for every Matrix block:

{{ entry.handle_of_redactorfield | footnotes }}
