floral's Issues

Crashes (unusable) when installed from github

Hello,
I first downloaded Floral from a third-party f-droid repo and the app just kept crashing after I give it the stockage permission. So I went on the github to download the APK from there... same things happend.
Works fine with APK from Google PlayStore.

Device : Xiaomi Mi A2
Custom ROM : CalyxOS 2.2.0 (Android 11)

APK from F-Droid does not install.

When installing this app from the IzzyOnDroid Repo on F-Droid, the APK fails to install on my device. Possibly the APK is corrupted?

Device is Oppo Reno running Android 10. Thanks.

Enhancement: make an option to follow the system theme

Currently, there's no option to activate it and the app doesn't follow the system theme either.

accidently i had installed:

Runtime version: 11.0.15+0-b2043.56-8887301 amd64

i opend the source folder, build and signed the project and installed it
on my Pixel 7a / Android 13 where it runs without problems.

But the pixel is new and i have only 3 images, so maybe issues will arrive in future.
I'll report back.

Enhancement: make all icons (in the main screen) to have the same design

• "Images pinning" doesn't have shadows, but it has a reflection effect;
• The Floral/menu icon is semi-flat and have shadows, but not the reflection effect;
• The camera icon is all flat, doesn't have shadows or the reflection effect.

Enhancement: move the author email out of the hamburguer menu

When opening the hamburguer menu, there is the email of the developer, but, from a design perspective, it seems that the developer email is connected and syncing photos. Is a cosmetic change, but it can help people to not wrongly think that the photos are being "synced with this account" and "exposing the photos to an unknown person".

The app does not load images on Android 11

Hi
I just want to report that the app does not load images on Android11

Files are not deleting, instead, some weird icons appears and they keep growing in quantity

The more you delete to delete these leftovers, the more they appear. I don't know how to reproduce this.

Steps:

1. Install app
2. Open it
3. Wait for "Get Started" button show up and tap on it
4. Showing loading till it crashes

Enhancement: when tapping and holding on a item to select it, display the file actions at the bottom of the screen

Currently, the file actions are hidden under an ellipsis menu. This is bad to reach on taller phones. Samsung Gallery does this and it's the usability is better:

[Bug] Pinning not working (Android 12)

Hi, I am using your beautiful gallery (the only good looking open source) sins the past two weeks on a Pixel 5 (with custome Rom: CalyxOS). The app works great but the pinning (hiding) doesn´t work. It is possibly a Android 12 issue (because the last update is from 2020)
I woud love to see active devolopment again...

The app refuses to launch

The device is Samsung Galaxy A33 5G, SM-A336B/DSN.
The app straight up crashes when I'm trying to launch it after I've granted it a permission to interact with the files.

It would be great to have this app included in F-Droid.

Can't delete pictures or videos

Hello,
When I try to delete a picture or a video with the recycle bin logo it just says Done but the file is not deleted at all.
I tried to select it from the gallery (and not the picture itself) and doing Options(three dots) > Delete but it does exactly the same.
Please fix this

hello there, i am using this gallery as library in my project. but there is no MainActivity in code. please let me know what can i do now ?

Enhancement: reduce the fade transition time when running the app for the first time

The first run screen has a slow fade transition, but it's unnecessary long. Maybe 2s is enough.
