Thunderbird-style single-key keyboard shortcuts for Roundcube's message list and message view, plus archive and junk buttons in the message list hover menu of the Elastic skin.

All shortcuts act on the selected message(s) and work in the message list, in the preview pane and in the full message view. u and f toggle based on the first selected message, so a whole selection is marked or flagged together.

Wherever a button or menu entry exists for one of these actions, its tooltip names the key — so the shortcuts are discoverable from the interface itself.

Nothing happens while a text field has focus, so typing into the search box or a compose form is unaffected. Shortcuts with Ctrl, Alt or Cmd held are left to the browser and to Roundcube — Ctrl/Cmd+A still selects all messages.

Keys that Roundcube disables for the current context are simply ignored: a does nothing in the Archive folder or its subfolders, j does nothing in the Junk folder, and nothing happens when no message is selected.

When you hover over a message in the Elastic skin, an archive icon and a junk (fire) icon appear alongside the existing flag and delete buttons. Clicking them archives the message or marks it as junk through Roundcube's built-in archive and markasjunk plugins, so subfolder sorting, read-on-archive, junk reporting and all other settings of those plugins apply.

The archive button is hidden in the Archive folder and its subfolders, the junk button in the Junk folder. Like every other button, both name their key in the tooltip.

Every other shortcut uses a core command. When one of the two plugins is missing, its key is silently ignored and its button is not added.

The plugin directory must be named quick_actions — Roundcube loads plugins/<name>/<name>.php, so a directory named after this repository fails with "Failed to load plugin file". Clone it with an explicit target:

Then add it to your config/config.inc.php:

This plugin replaces both archive-hover and mail-shortcuts. Remove archive_hover and mail_shortcuts from $config['plugins'] and from plugins/, then install quick_actions as above. Running the old plugins alongside this one would bind every key twice.
