Code sign for Mavericks and Yosemite

Sinds 10.9.3 you need to codesign executables. this is not included in the script.

sudo codesign -f -s - /System/Library/Frameworks/IOKit.framework/Versions/A/IOKit

Latest Beta8

Been working thru this one, and I can't seem to get the change to take hold. Stopped hanging on reboot with my last attempt but either I'm misunderstanding your instructions or something else has changed. I've added the new values, restarted and I do reboot now properly but still no 4K. Really want my Seiki 50" rocking Yosemite!! ;)

Maybe someone will figure out what I'm doing wrong.

No available patch for Yosemite public release (14A389)

It looks like the .command has been updated for a Yosemite beta, but not for the public release.

The md5 of IOKit on my system is:

2a8cbc2f6616d3f7a5e499bd2d5593ab

No longer valid for Yosemite beta

Newer betas have new IOKit with different checksum

10.9.5 support?

Tried dmayle's

But seems not working on my 2013 MacBook Air, any one get a working 10.9.5? Thanks

Patch for 10.10.3

I tried manually patching the binary for 10.10.3, but I am not well versed in assembly. Is there a working patch for 10.10.3 or plans to update this one?

Work on 10.10.5?

Hi there,

I am a beginner at Terminal. I have a Mac Mini 2014 with a 4K Monitor. I tried to change the refresh rate to 60hz.
When I researched, I realized that I should install this patch which I am a very beginner at it!
Does it work at Yosemite 10.10.5? and by running the command does it mean that I should enter each line separately and hit enter or enter it all at the same time?

Patch for 10.10.2

I get the following md5 hash for the IOKit file:

a94dc8e1b6bb6491e5f610f0a3caf960

So I guess the patch has to be updated for 10.10.2 to work.

Would be great if someone who's familiar with this work could do that 👍

Under 10.10 it has worked like a charm on my MacBook Air late 2013 to get 2560 pixel res out of it.

Not work in Yosemite. Can not boot up after patching!

After applying the patch, the system will not boot up.

Have to use Cmd-R to enter the recovery mode and restore the IOKit to boot back into the system.

It appears that Yosemite no longer loads modified kernel extensions when booting, which results in a boot failure.
