Explain Directory structure

Hey, if possible could you explain the directory structure you used to bring this project to life ?
I mean, where are you storing and running files ? I could do trial-error, but it would help if you could explain the local directory structure, and the directory permission you had to give to allow image storing in /var/ dir.
If Possible, please expand on this:
