almendruco's Issues

Notify in some way when something fails badly

Implement some mechanism to inform about critical errors, such as bad credentials. This could be done as a special message sent to the affected user themselves or maybe some alerting mechanism configured directly in AWS (such as sending an email to a preconfigured address).

Migrate to aws-sdk-go-v2

AWS SDK for Go v2 went GA on January, 2021. It's unclear what the advantages are of using v2 vs. v1. v1 is still supported officially and actively developed, so this situation doesn't seem to be changing soon. Therefore, this issue is low priority right now.

Decouple database model from business logic models

Currently, the Chat model used to represent a chat in the service's business logic is also used to unmarshal data records. This implies that database fields have to have the same names than the ones defined in the service model.

A possible solution would be to add struct tags to the Chat model so that the records are parsed correctly. However, that would mean adding repository-specific details to a logic model. Ideally, both should be fully decoupled, even if that implies implementing parsing routines to translate between them.
