I had no issues with Afterburner-beta, but using Voron2.4 I'm unable to print TPU.
The Filament-Path around the drive gear seems to be wider than in the first version, so the filament is pressed into the gap.
The image for the section titled COMPLETED AB DRIVE UNITS reflects the Z Belt Clips are installed. That step does not occur until 9 pages later in the section titled ATTACH AB MODULES.
The image shows the Z Chain Retainer Bracket fixed in place on the A Drive Module in the aforementioned section, as well as in the section A DRIVE MODULE + CHAIN ANCHOR. This component does not appear to stay put until the cable chain is attached.
skr_mini_e2_bracket_x2.stl should be skr_mini_e3_bracket_x2.stl
In https://github.com/VoronDesign/Voron-2/tree/master/Mods/wile.e.coyote
If you open these in Notepad, you will see that they are HTML files, not STLs
Page 117 at the SKR end of the diagram, positive is shown on the right and negative on the left. Should be reversed per SKR pin map.
The diagram in Eddie's SKR setup guide is correct. My bed failed to heat on config check when wired per the manual, but heated correctly when wired per Eddie's diagram.
The sourcing guide link (V2.4 tab, line 73) for a bowden fitting goes to the embedded bowden fitting as used in Jetpack, rather than the threaded one used in the V2.4 Exhaust assembly.
From page 119 of the v2.4 manual:
HOT END POLARITY
The hot end heater does care how you
wire it. The diagram above is simply
showing the terminal polarity of the
controller
Should that say "The hot end heater does not care how you wire it."?
Only creating this issue because I don't know of a way to do a pull request on the really well-done Assembly Manual ๐ and figured this might help keep confusion to a minimum when users have older versions of the manual.
The latest and greatest awesome Voron 2.4 Assembly_Manual is from 2020.08.05, but the versioning inside the PDF wasn't updated ๐ข
Pinging @insurgus as it looks like you hold the keys to the PDF updates ๐
Holes for +20mm XY Bridges do not line up with mating part. Upon investigation, it appears the v2.1 and v2.2 parts are swapped:
STLs/VORON2.1/ZipChain/XY/v21_xy_bridge_+20mm_x1_Rev2.STL
STLs/VORON2.2/ZipChain/XY/xy_bridge_+20mm_x1_Rev2.STL
Page 126 is blank except for the title CABLE CHAIN Z AXIS. Same with Page 127 having only its title CABLE CHAIN XY AXIS
Voron-2/STLs/VORON2.4/Electronics_Compartment/DIN_Brackets/ramps_bracket_x2.stl
This file needs to be mirrored in order for the screw holes to line up on the Mega 2560.
The LM393M variant has been discontinued by ON semiconductor. Searching on DigiKey for "LM393MFS-ND" brings up that the part is discontinued. Per ON semiconductor, the LM393M was replaced with LM393DR2G. The parts should be the exact same, since both use the same exact datasheet. It is just a naming thing that they changed, but since the name is changed, it makes it harder to search for by beginners.
I am suggesting the "LM393MFS-ND" on the BOM be changed to "LM393DR2GOSCT-ND". That way people can find the correct part.
Hey,
Instruction is missing step with DIN rail mounting.
Thanks
The README.md file in the v2.1.1 tag has a broken link to the Voron 2.1.1 configurator.
The second official release of the Voron 2.1.1 3d printer. You can find the BOM in the configurator located at the [Voron Design](http://vorondesign.com/voron2.1) website.
Either the link should me removed or the configurator should be made available.
I ran the configurator for a direct feed, 300mm with Misumi corner cubes. The produced BOM stated I needed 11 M5x16 screws. Following the manual, I have needed 14 of these of these screws
Hi, is it possibile to have a support for 3D passion's nova hotend?
I have had issues fitting the X and Y microswitches to the endstop pod. I have checked the Omron datasheet for D2F-5L and the distance between fixing hole centre and case outer surface is 1.5mm, however in the V2.4 CAD model, this dimension is only 1.35mm.
The shape of the micro switch locating feature is also different to the D2F-5L linked in the sourcing guide (straight PCB terminals) as it doesn't follow the case profile of the microswitch fully. Perhaps a simple rectangular shaped support feature, 1.5mm from fixing hole centre would work? That way it would allow fitment of both the solder terminal as well as PCB terminal types, while still supporting the micro switch location during use.
Hey,
I found in manual missing steps:
Thanks
Hello, i am unable to print the file. Simplify3D or Prusaslicer bug with this file ( binary Stl error) . When clicking ion the Github file , it don't appear in the windows
Thank's
2.4 it is not just me - I can see all pictures from voron showcase on discord to have layer miss-alignment going up the Z like Z-Banding.
Also Nero made a live-stream and his cube had also z-banding.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bURkB-ecNbw&t=14037s
Guys from Poland Druk3D have Z-banding.
https://youtu.be/X2vB1MGsWLk?t=890
It appears that not just me, but every print has some sort of Z banding.
Is this a mechanical or electronic derived miss-alignment. What do you guys think? Where should I focus my correction mod to fix the problem.
I am trying to understand why this happens. Is it caused by Z guide rails, or AB guide rails? or E guide rails? Is it by the belt tension or by stepper motors?
It is caused by pulleys or by the whole design because guide tolerances are variable?
The drawing for the back panel in the Drawings file currently has missing constraints for the exhaust cutout. A dimension in the X direction would lock in the location of the cutout, as it currently is missing a label for this and leaves the cut unfixed in all degrees of freedom.
Possible fixes:
Current spool depth for Amazon Basics filament is 76mm. The spool holder in its current state supports a maximum depth of about 73mm. This is easily fixed by scaling along the x axis during print, but it might be worth lengthening it in the CAD and STL files.
Cannot determine where to attach the Z chain guide since it is missing from the final CAD. My best guess is it attaches on the gantry against the back of the Z chain. If that is in fact where it attaches, with the igus chains being a unidirectional curve, I am wondering if it is even a necessary part,
What are VFA's (Vertical Fine Artifacts)? They are fine vertical lines that appear on printed surfaces.
As for VFAs, one that is noticeable in every Voron 3D print, is some sort of Z banding, as the surface going up the bed, isnt perfectly straight and there is some sort of miss alignment of the extrusion.
I am comparing Voron (because of it's price point) to everything above other printer in terms of quality.
Now, please don't ignore this issue, let;s find a way to fix it through cooperation.

Who agrees to have small Z-banding and wants to remove it?
Hi,
The Assembly Manual and Voron2_SKR_14_Config.cfg
indicate connection of motor B on X and motor A on Y.
But in Voron2_SKR_14_Wiring.pdf the motors are inverted
Thanks
Hi,
if IGUS chains are used in the configurator, BOM calls for IGUS e2 chains for x and y, which open on the outside. Sourcing Guide on the other hand calls for e2i, which opens on the inside. I personally prefer the inside opening variant for x and y, but whichever is preferred by the dev team, BOM and sourcing guide should match up.
In the 2.4 release notes, losses is misspelled as loses: "Direct drive A and B motors allow for smoother belt path and less parasitic loses."
P.S. Congrats on another fantastic release!
Hey
In BOM I found M2x10 listed, but in instruction manual says about M2x8. M2x10 are too long for DIN mounts because they go all the way through.
Dragon Toolhead is missing in CAD.
Please add it!
The filament path if DD main body does not align the BMG drive gear, if it is mounte against the bearing. If it is not supported by the bearings and can move, it is pushed out of the center of the filament path if flex filament is used. The filament will stuck.
Loaded most of the 2.4 STL's currently available--found 4 throwing minor errors in PrusaSlicer. I think someone else was saying Cura was throwing errors as well.
Gantry/Front_Idlers:
front_idler_right_upper.stl
front_idler_right_lower.stl
front_idler_left_upper.stl
front_idler_left_lower.stl
Thanks!
Page 27 appears to have two minor errors that may cause new builders slight confusion (like me!). They are easily overcome, and maybe it's just me, but clear/correct instructions >mostly correct instructions:
The M5x30 SCHS in the 'eyeholes' are mislabeled (at least according to the CAD file). Should be labeled BCHS instead. Not sure if there are clearance issues here, but consistency between the manual, BOM and CAD is probably a good thing.
The order of assembly on the page is physically impossible. The M3x16 SCHS can't go in before the lower printed part.
The V2.2 manual, at least on https://www.dropbox.com/s/96b65b5ddmter8s/VORON2.2%20Manual.pdf?dl=0 , is still recommending M3x8 SHCS for mounting the Meanwell RS-25-5 to the printed bracket meanwell_rs_25_##_mounting_bracket_x1_Rev1.png. The M3x8 are too long and they will chew through the insulation and make contact with the PCB of the PSU, possibly creating a fire hazard.
It is a known issue which can be found in the Discord announcements, but the manual still has not been updated even though this announcement was made last November:
"SERVICE BULLETIN: Please use M3x6 BHCS when mounting RS-25-5 PSU. M3x8 may go too far into the PSU body and puncture the insulating sheet, shorting out the main PCB. Manual will be updated shortly"
Page 53 shows the bars that you are supposed to be working on, however, you start assembly of those bar's on page 52.
Assembly manual lists M5x30 SHCS for attaching the Z-Tentioner to the Z-Tensioner-Brackets.
Should be M5x30 BHCS.
Hi,
the build plate in the assembly manual does not match the other drawings supplied through git.
Nothing really severe, but a bit confusing :)
Add the Z1-Z4, A/B, etc motor to the manual for easy reference
There's 0.1 mm expansion compensation put directly into cad files. Now all parts I have already printed on a calibrated machine go into trash. So my proposal would be to add compensation as a variable, or just don't compensated at all, because that's not the right way to solve printing issues that some users might experience. CAD sizes should be precise.
I want to provide some help for Voron. I see that most of you use multiple motherboards. I want to provide you with some FLY motherboards for free, supporting 9 drivers. Please give me a contact
