Hi,
That is odd, I have never seen the token retrieval auth call fail before. I would first make sure that you are using the correct URLs, both in the MAL app and in your server. Are you using the redirect URL generated from the plugin? This is most likely the cause of the error.
Also make sure to confirm your client ID and secret are correct.
Also have you tested it multiple times? The MAL API can sometimes go down, while this shouldn't cause a 401 it may have something to do with it.

Hi, I tried creating a new API on MAL and it worked. It was probably an authentication failure with the Client ID/ secret.
