Example in the NodeJS Community:
Their website: https://nodejs.org/en/get-involved/node-meetups/
Here's the issue they added to create a Conferences section: nodejs/nodejs.org#2031

User can see a list of all upcoming events with the following basic info:
Hello, A colleague sent me a link to this overall VueMeetup list as I am looking for Vue events to attend locally. Under "Washington State" i noticed there isn't anything listed, but on the Meetup webpage there is this event: https://www.meetup.com/SeattleVueJS/
I understand not everyone knows about this repo and/or it may be a new group. :) I am just trying to be helpful so more Seattle people can find it.
I have no affiliationwith that meetup group, although I just joined it today. Thank you!
Since Vue already has 3 official conferences under its belt, I thought it could be useful for users to have a centralized location in the docs to see all the Vue.js conferences that have occurred / will happen along with easy to reference links to the various resources for those conferences.
Does anyone else think this is valuable? And if so, should we keep it within this "Community" page or is it worth creating a sister page to the "Community" effort for this?
CodePen has a model where they have organizers submit events to them and they create the event using Nvite. We could certainly follow the same model with Meetup.com if we wanted in order to better facilitate costs for organizers since there is a yearly fee for Meetup.com.
The potential benefits include:
Potential drawbacks include:
Part of the reason I'm asking this is because one of my goals with this page is to actually provide an easy way for users to query for meetups without ever leaving the Vue.js docs page. However, there is the obvious logistical obstacle of how that would be managed. However, I'll open up a new issue for that discussion.
Users can sort and filter the list based on the following criteria:
- Start Date
- End Date
- Location / Geographic Region
- Topics
- Keywords (matched in either title or description)
New event on july 17th: https://www.meetup.com/VueJS-Amsterdam/events/251430162/

See #65 for discussion, but basically we need to have the server run the script regularly to fetch events. More details to come later.
In an effort to reduce fragmentation, I wanted to recommend that we have "official charters" for groups. In other words, our list of meetup groups would represent the "official Vue.js meetup groups" and thus would make it easy for all interested parties to get in touch with the right people.
Another benefit this would add is that we would also be aware of all the community leaders and would also provide us a simple way of contacting them as needed.
And as far as what organizers would get by being "officially" registered could be things like:
Thoughts?

I am a newbie to Vue and I just realised that there isn't any Vue meetup around my region (Nigeria) and I would like to start one.
Based on the current information architecture on the docs, I will start off this discussion by proposing that it lives in:
Ecosystem > Help > {{ nameOfThisInitiative }}
I recently founded a dedicated Vue meetup in Charlotte, NC: here's a link to the Meetup page:
Meetup Vue Charlotte
I have some conferences in mind already, but other ideas for this concept include providing resources for those interested in getting into speaking and such.
Looking forward to organising vue is meet up in Nigeria
There are artifacts from the repos that either need to be captured and/or retired in order to provide a single source of truth for users.
I'd like to get the greenlight to start a vuejs community specific to my university. I've tried to put to put together a couple of people for a community specific to my city, but that has not been successful. Getting one up and running in my university has prospects of starting in 2019 and I would like to know inform you of this plan

I've spoken briefly with @bencodezen about this on Discord.
What should be the format for added events?
I'd suggest dropping the month name from each line, because right now it gets more accented than the town's name and it's redundant since each month has a separate headline.
Also, how to make the town more visible?
The following upcoming meetup of VueJs Amsterdam will be on June the 21st see:
https://www.meetup.com/VueJS-Amsterdam/events/250577395/
While the repo is currently called "Vue Ambassadors," this is far from being set in stone and I would welcome any suggestions as far as what we call this. Other ideas include:
It should go under the 'United States' > 'South Carolina' section.

Hi, we just created a VueJS meetup in Milan - Italy : https://www.meetup.com/it-IT/VueJS-Milano/
Could you please add it to the list?
Be considerate to people traveling to your venue. Try not to do it right after work even though it's convenient for you.
Requesting you to add Vue Columbus meetup group to your site.
https://www.meetup.com/Vue-Columbus/
While it's good that the upcoming meetups are being displayed chronologically, in case of past meetups it means that what we see first are meetups from half of a year ago.
It could be nice to revert that order and show the meetups that just ended first, just like it was previously before that page was dynamic.
