Hi, the calibration is just to set the maximum upscaling available for the display, it is not meant to set the current brightness - after the calibration is completed, the brightness is reset, which is normal. You can change the brightness using the app menu's brightness slider.

You can change the combined brightness restore mode under Settings/Displays/Overview/Advanced upscaling and software dimming settings.

Are you using brightness upscaling for your built-in screen or the Odyssey G9?

Hi there - the purpose of the calibration is to specify the maximum upscaling level. The app automatically sets this based on the reported data from the display, you only need to use the calibration if the maximum brightness for brightness upscaling is not ideal. Every time you open the calibration again, the app will start from a baseline (no upscaling). Now that you mention it, that might be confusing?

Hi there - sadly the screenshot did not go through. It might be better to use GitHub's UI directly instead of emails as the thread can also can get a bit confusing.

So the main issue is not with the brightness slider but with software brightness control resetting? In the current app version software brightness upscaling is not being reapplied upon startup, only dimming. This is intentional but I might revise this, I am not entirely sure why I did it like this (there was some rationale behind it at the time though :)). As a workaround you can use betterdisplaycli or macOS Shortcuts to create a script that sets the brightness to any desired level and can make it run on login (after the app is started, so you'll need to add a few seconds of delay to make sure this happens by the time your script runs).
